We Are FACS

Where do you want to go? We can help you get there. Our alumni are in every state and practically every profession. We’re in the big cities -  New York and D.C., Atlanta and L.A - but we’re also in the suburbs and the little dots on the map. No matter where you want to go or what you want to do, we’ll take you there.

What makes us unique?

Career options

We'll prepare you to help people and communities thrive. We emphasize real-world skills that translate to careers and opportunity. We believe through rigorous instruction, research, internships, career development and experiential learning opportunities, we can build stronger communities.

We're a family

We’re unique. We’re the only college at UGA with family in our name, and we’re proud of it. We keep our classes small so you’ll get to know your classmates and professors, and we have a team of advisors who will pour into you and guide you on your journey.

Proud alumni

As one of the oldest colleges at UGA – we trace our roots back to 1918! – we also have one of the largest alumni networks. You’ll find our graduates in labs and clinics and skyscrapers, schools and showrooms and courthouses, and they’re glad to share their story and even help you find your own path.

Kaitlyn Foley

BSFCS, Fashion Merchandising, 2009
Director of Ecommerce and Retail
United States Olympic and Paralympic Properties, Los Angeles

FACS laid the foundation for my retail industry knowledge. I learned how to wear many hats and develop knowledge across multiple industries and business functions. The comprehensive variety of coursework truly shaped the way I approach opportunities and challenges throughout my career.

Quadarius Whitson

M.S, Nutritional Sciences, 2024
Program Associate
Culinary Nutrition and Food Safety, Little Rock, Arkansas

My experience in the FACS program was instrumental in shaping the professional I am today. The coursework built a strong foundation in nutrition and food science, while opportunities to engage in research allowed me to apply that knowledge in meaningful ways.

Lauren Lewis

BSFCS, Human Development and Family Science, 2019
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Phoenix, Arizona

My FACS education completely transformed my career trajectory. I switched from pre-med to pre-nursing in college. By taking extensive coursework in child and adolescent development, I was able to further this knowledge in grad school to become a pediatric healthcare provider specializing in child development and behavior.
