Why I chose my major

I have always loved science and knew that I wanted to go into the healthcare field. I chose dietetics because nutrition is very personalized, and it allows me to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I am particularly interested in behavioral nutrition, which focuses on working with patients who have disabilities, mental health issues, and neurological conditions.

What I like most about FACS

My favorite part about FACS is the people. I have made some of my closest friends through this program, and the faculty is fantastic. Dr. Emma Laing has been so helpful and supportive of my goals. I cannot thank my professors enough for teaching me everything I know and preparing me for a bright future.

Post-graduation plans

I will complete my Master of Science in Community Nutrition next summer and start my dietetic internship in the fall. I hope to get an internship through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and get my registered dietitian credentials in Fall 2026.
