Activities/Honors

I serve as a YoungLife leader at Cedar Shoals High School, a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and a member of the Omega Tau Pre-Occupational Therapy club. I am involved in FACS by serving as a student representative on the Inclusive Excellence Committee for the 2024-25 school year. Honors I have received are the Presidential Scholar Award for all semesters and was recently named a First Honors Scholar for maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

Why I chose my major

I chose to pursue a degree in Human Development and Family Science because learning about normative and non-normative development is very beneficial for my future career in healthcare. Learning about theories and environmental factors that influence child and adult development has given me knowledge that will allow me to be successful as an occupational therapist working with all populations.

What I like most about FACS

The professors care so deeply about their students! Every faculty member in FACS is knowledgeable and approachable, and they have allowed me to invest in my courses and dive deeper into topics.

Post-graduation plans

After graduation, I plan to attend the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C., to get my doctorate degree in occupational therapy.
