- Why I chose my major
I chose Dietetics because I wanted to help others see how nutrition can impact every aspect of life. Growing up, I took several FarmToFork classes that taught me about nutrition from a young age. As I got older, I gained more knowledge on how food can be used to prevent and treat diseases. I knew majoring in Dietetics would give me the tools to become a registered dietitian who can teach others the value of nutrition.
- What I like most about FACS
My favorite thing about FACS has been the relationships I have created with my professors in the DPD program. The dietetic program is a smaller one that allows you to spend more time with the professors. I could not be more thankful for the way Dr. Laing and Dr. Brigman mentored me and provided our cohort with the tools to take with us to become successful dietitians. My classmates have become some of my closest friends, and I know that I have a network of future dietitians whom I will be able to lean on in our future careers.
- Post-graduation plans
In January, I will start my Master’s degree with UGA in Community Nutrition. After completing my master’s, I will begin my Dietetic Internship. After completing my Dietetic Internship, I plan to pursue a career as a clinical dietitian.
