Why I chose my major

I chose my major because I have always had a passion for helping people become their best self. HDFS allows me to learn and fully understand how people develop, while also teaching me valuable communication skills. This will be vital in my future career as a dentist because I can form a trustworthy relationship with all of my patients.

Why did you want to become a FACS Ambassador?

I wanted to be a FACS Ambassador because the second I stepped foot into Dawson Hall and the FACS community, I was instantly welcomed with open arms. I knew immediately that I wanted to continue to have an impact on other students the way that this impacted me, and being a FACS Ambassador provided me with that opportunity. Being a FACS Ambassador has allowed me to give back to a community who gives so much to me!

What do you like most about FACS?

I love the class sizes and professors within FACS. The smaller class sizes give you an opportunity to build a close relationship with your professors. This allows you to be able to truly learn and appreciate the content taught within FACS.

What advice would you give to new students?

Never be afraid to try new things and explore your options. It's OK to not have your life figured out the second you step on campus. Take in every moment and always say yes to new opportunities!

What is one thing you wish more people knew about FACS?

I wish more people understood and knew how diverse FACS majors are. Majors within FACS can set you up to pursue most any career you desire, while also preparing you to communicate with others. FACS prepares you for life after college by offering more than just academic and educational knowledge.

Post-graduation plans

I intend to apply to dental school and pursue a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
