Study Abroad Opportunity

A great opportunity to intern abroad is offered through London Study Abroad. Students have interned with international fashion designers, retailers, and fashion promotion companies. This is a 6-week internship worth 3 credit hours as a TXMI elective.

Locate an Internship

There are several sources that you can use to locate internships. The UGA Career Center can provide names, contact information, and internship opportunities for a variety of companies that suit you. You can also participate in the Fashion Merchandising Internship Program, where you will be exposed to a variety of companies that offer internships specifically to Fashion Merchandising students at UGA.

Requirements

  • Enroll in TXMI 5900: Professional Development for the Fashion Industry during the spring semester of your junior year.
  • Arrange your internship with final suitability approval from the Internship Coordinator.
  • Complete all prerequisite courses and maintain the required GPA in the major.
  • Submit a completed Internship Application Packet.
  • Complete your internship during the summer semester.
  • Earn 3–6 credit hours of TXMI 5910 upon successful completion.
  • Work a minimum of 150–300 hours at your internship site.
  • Complete required assignments and employment evaluations.
  • Meet any additional requirements set by the internship sponsor.
