Therapy and Counseling

HDFS students are well-prepared to pursue graduate degrees in the therapy and counseling fields. Throughout the HDFS curriculum, students are exposed to systemic thinking, theories of human interaction, and the contexts in which patterns of interaction develop. Coursework such as Family Intervention (HDFS 5100) introduces undergraduate students to systemic intervention theories they will explore further in clinical graduate programs. Experiential learning opportunities such as an Internship at the Love and Money Center allow students to experience working in a clinical setting and observing graduate student practica to prepare them for graduate study.
